Ian Breitkreutz joined an elite group on Saturday when Boy Scouts of America’s highest award, the Eagle Scout award, was bestowed upon him.

Nationally, only four percent of eligible Boy Scouts earn the Eagle Scout award and only .03 percent of all boys in the U.S. have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, according to Chris Mehaffey, CEO and Scout Exectuive of the Boy Scouts of America, Mid America Council. “It takes a special young person to really focus and spend time to complete the rank of Eagle Scout,” said Mehaffey via phone.
