The Lutheran churches of the West Point circuit of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod are celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Reformation.
The event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 29 at the Wisner City Auditorium.
A full day of festivities is being planned, beginning with coffee and refreshments at 9:30 a.m. and hymn singing and organ preludes at 9:45. A joint choir has been practicing to take part in the Reformation church service which begins at 10:30 a.m.
A German brat fry will follow around noon and there will be a social time including entertainment for the children. A music concert will also be presented in the afternoon featuring area LCMS musicians. “Martin Luther” will also appear and tell about his quest for the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Everyone is invited to come and join the celebration.
