The Wisner City Council Monday night approved the purchase of a cyber insurance policy to cover possible damage from online attacks. The plan is being added to the city’s existing auto and property insurance policy at a cost of $1,100 per year.

Wisner is following the lead of many cities which have taken steps to protect themselves from the increasing threats of hacking and other cyber attacks.
