Finances were the order of the night Tuesday, Sept. 8, as the Wisner City Council approved an $11.8 million 2020-21 budget and approved a $21,275 grant application.

The city budget carries a  $300,088 property tax asking, up $18,909 from last year’s budget. The city’s tax levy will stay about the same at 45.4 cents per $100 of assessed value. Helping to keep the levy stable was a $66 million valuation for the city, which is $4.1 million more than last year.
