The Wisner City Council Jan. 21 voted to move ahead with a plan to develop the former elementary building site into 12 rent-to-own homes. It calls for houses to be built by Foundations Development and financial participation from local, state and federal sources.
Rob Woodling of Foundations Development said ten of the 12 houses would be deemed “affordable” and would rent for $500 a month. The two other houses would rent for $600 a month.
