A grand opening with tours and refreshments, followed by a ribbon cutting was held at the Conn Library at Wayne State College on Friday with a large group attending. This was the first large renovation of the library since the 60’s. Many Wisner residents and former Wisnerites were present for the ceremonies.

Marysz Rames, WSC president, gave the welcome. Keith Armstrong, Chief Executive officer of the WSC Foundation, announced the honorees. The school band played while the alumni cheered.

Among those recognized as financial supporters of the library project were Barbara K. Breitkreutz (class of ’76) and Jim Kanter, Minneapolis, MN: Marjorie (class of ’82) and Bill Holland, Aurora; Gardner Foundation; Peter Kiewit Foundation; Robert B. Daughterty Foundation; Dr, Kenneth and Caroline McDonald Eng Foundation; Florence O. Ferrin (class of 1942); Valmont Foundation; Sutherland Foundation; Hugh M. Gailey (class of ‘53) and Terry (class of ’72) and Linda McClain.
