A former Pilger man escaped from the Thurston County Jail in Pender on Sunday and should be considered “extremely dangerous”, according to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger.

Cody Murphree, 26, was being held awaiting sentencing on charges that involved being a felon in possession of stolen firearm(s) and armed robbery. Murphree has ties to both the Pilger and Norfolk and is believed to be in the Norfolk area.
