Family, service, and tradition are the overriding themes behind the new Wisner Volunteer Fire Department tribute mural that was unveiled on Oct. 27. The mural currently memorializes Ken Donner and Brieson Jensen, two Wisner firemen who recently passed away. However, the mural will continue to serve as a way for the fire department to remember members who pass away in the future.
“We have a tight knit group and we do a lot together. It is a family,” said Fire Chief Wade Eisenhauer. “Ken always called the fire department his second family,” echoed his widow, Jan Donner. So, it was important to the whole department to have a way to honor the departed who were part of their fire department family.
