At 11:24 p.m. on Friday night the Stanton County Sheriff’s office was notified and responded to a 911 call of a house fully engulfed in fire and two people still believed to be inside the residence on 575th Avenue southeast of Pilger.
Eugene and Carol Sateren were awakened by a passerby, Bray Andersen. He and his wife, Courtney, were driving nearby when she spotted the fire. He pounded on the windows and woke the Saterns. The couple was able to exit the residence before it became fully engulfed.
