Thunder by the River, annually voted as a top pull of the Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling Association, reaches a baker’s dozen this year, as an Extreme National pull will return to Wisner River Park on Aug. 18-19.
The two days will include three sessions. The opening session will take place on Friday, Aug. 18, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Session two will be Saturday, Aug. 19 at 12 noon, with the closing session to follow on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Two tracks and two sleds will again keep the action moving for the fans. Tractor classes will include diesel super stock, limited light pro, limited pro stock, light super stock, modified, super farm, and unlimited super stock. Pickup classes will be 2WD, 4WD, diesel 4X4, pro stock 4X4, and pro stock.
Not many changes have taken place from last year, except for a little convenience for the fans in getting to the pull. Having purchased land to the east, Tractor Pull of Wisner hopes to make the walk to the pulling area a bit shorter. This purchase has also allowed the association to expand on its pit area for competitors.
