When it came time for Gwen Donner, a junior at Wisner-Pilger High School, to select a project for her FFA Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE), she decided to join the ranks of the more than 200,000 beekeepers across the United States. A year and a half after starting her first four bee hives, Gwen is reaping the sweet rewards of beekeeping.
Gwen and her uncle Jared Donner, who acts as her supervisor for the SAE, recently harvested their first batch of honey. They posted the eight quarts of honey for sale on social media and were sold out within 24-hours.
