When asked at Monday’s regular Wisner City Council meeting as to the status of the process of hiring a new Wisner Police Chief to replace the retiring Terry Soden, Mayor Dave Brown indicated a choice would be coming soon.

“You will be hearing something shortly,” said Brown in response to a resident’s question.

Brown went on to elaborate that the city is close to offering the position to an individual. No names were given as to the choice.

In agenda item news from Monday, the council approved a professional services agreement with Olsson Associates with regards to the city auditorium remodel.

Among the engineering services to be provided by Olsson Associates are electrical, mechanical, structural, civil engineering, deliverables, design meetings, quality control, and bidding services. Architectural services will be design development, construction documents, and bidding.
